Our Beaver Colony
Formed in 1992 our Beaver Scouts are the youngest section in the group and made up of 6 to 8 year old girls and boys.
Beaver Scouts learn skills that are essential to their personal development such as teamwork, problem solving and responsibility, so the programme has a variety of activities which engage and challenge them, they can get involved in cooking, crafts, sports and sleepovers and many more to gain their badges and by the time they move on to the Cub Scouts they have earned their Chief Scout Bronze Award.
Beavers meet on Thursdays from 5.00pm to 6.15pm.
Uniforms can be bought at the Scout Shop in the District Headquarters Hall, Langdon Road, Bromley. Open on Saturdays from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. during term times.
The Groups blue scarf and badges and Group T shirt will be supplied by the Group.
Beavers will return form their Summer break on the 12th September.
The Beavers get new leader
I was a Cub, Scout and Senior Scout in the 50th Croydon and one of the first Venture Scouts in the SUN District.
I got my first warrant in 1975 and I have been a Scout Leader, and now I am a Cub Scout Leader, an Explorer Leader and now with the 3rd, a Beaver Leader. Zac, my son is now in the 3rd’s Troop.
When I’m not Scouting I also volunteer with the RNLI as an Education Presenter talking about water safety to schools and youth organisations.
What we’ve been doing
The Beavers are in the middle of a very busy term. Just before their recent holiday they all gained their Space Badge and can recite to you the order of the Planets from the Sun, if you ask them!
We are now starting on our Skills Challenge Badge and will be looking for parents to help us learn new skills.
We are still a small Colony and we are keen to add to our numbers. So please spread the word.
