Our Beaver Colony
Formed in 1992 our Beaver Scouts are the youngest section in the group and made up of 6 to 8 year old girls and boys.
Beaver Scouts learn skills that are essential to their personal development such as teamwork, problem solving and responsibility, so the programme has a variety of activities which engage and challenge them, they can get involved in cooking, crafts, sports and sleepovers and many more to gain their badges and by the time they move on to the Cub Scouts they have earned their Chief Scout Bronze Award.
Beavers meet on Thursdays from 5.00pm to 6.15pm.
Uniforms can be bought at the Scout Shop in the District Headquarters Hall, Langdon Road, Bromley. Open on Saturdays from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. during term times.
The Groups blue scarf and badges and Group T shirt will be supplied by the Group.
We started the evening with a game that involved a tied rope and two teams, the idea was one of the players from each of teams had to try and pick up the rope first, but they had to get back to their team quickly, otherwise they would be tagged by the other player which would then be able to take the rope back to their team.
We then had a talk from Lachlann Pearce, one of our young helpers, on fair trade which was very interesting. To make the point we had a game of fair trade football, one side had a large goal the other a much smaller one.
To finish the evening we had a relay race, but not just running the beavers had to show their skills at hopping as well. All in all, a very enjoyable evening!
