3rd Bromley Scout Group – starting young people on a lifetime of adventure
As Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with skills for life.
We encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more.
Each week, we give young people the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed, now and in the future. We’re talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience – skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians.
We believe in bringing people together. We celebrate diversity and stand against intolerance, always.
We’re a worldwide movement, creating stronger communities and inspiring positive futures.
If you would like to find out more about Scouting in Bromley visit the District website.

St George’s day 2019
Last Sunday saw our 109th St George’s day parade as a group. Everyone was invited to come along and renew their promise, we looked at who St George was and why he is the patron saint of Scouts everywhere and everyone in the group received badges that they have been working towards.
Finally, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Leaders and Parents had fun playing games. We played “head or catch”, which was a lot of fun – well done to Jake who won that game! Then parents were invited to join us in playing the gutter game (everyone loves the gutter game!) and we all had a great time – Here’s to another year of doing our best!
This year’s Monopoly Run.
This year, the leaders ran the annual Scouts and Guides Monopoly Run again. We played a game of Monopoly in London by going to the real streets and stations mentioned on the board and even had a stint in “prison” (the Clink Museum)! We had to visit the Tate Modern and the embankment for the utilities. We had a chance to buy the places we visited, if no one else had, or else we had to pay rent! The full results are yet to be released, but we are happy to report that the two 3rd Bromley Groups that played came second and first in our game! Go Us!

Our sad loss
Sadly our Akela, Lilian Butler died last November.
Lilian was with the Group for over 40 years and was the longest serving uniformed leader in the history of the Group.
Lilian will be greatly missed by the 3rd and the many members that have passed through the Cub Pack over so many year’s.
